Every year, for the last three years, I have checked for these. The British soldiers are faithfully guarding and guiding our way into spring.
I’ve photographed them every year, growing out of an old rotten railroad tie cast aside on along the well worn path. Their color is the only color here, that I have seen so far. They are a refreshing relief as life begins again.
He was traveling as fast as he could through the grass, ISO a place to park, I’m thinking. I had to hurry to keep up and grab a shot. I tried to identify and it says it’s a Hickory Tussock, not a good caterpillar, a bit of controversy. But, he’s here for a reason, so I just took his picture and let him keep moving.
