Nostalgia

Nostalgia

Can you imagine my delight when, moving back home, I discovered that the train still ran about 3 p.m. daily (2004), delivering whatever cargo was to be delivered to whoever had placed an order.

In 2006, I caught this last glimpse of the train. I heard her whistle and while debating on being lazy and waiting another day (thank goodness I did not!), I did run out and snap a few from my back yard.

About two weeks (or less?) later there was the “Flood of 2006,” and the line was wiped out.

Rumors circulated last year about it becoming functional again, and activity ensued, the line was being cleaned of weeds, etc., but nothing has happened this year.
